What People Are Saying

  • "When I think of my good friend and fellow laborer for justice the Rev. Dr. John Welch, three words come to mind. They are wisdom, vision and integrity. John is a leader. We first met at the beginning of this century while he was pastor of the historic Bid well Presbyterian Church in the Manchester area of Pittsburgh and I was pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church on North Avenue. John’s wisdom was evident in his ability to analyze, describe and prescribe amid the violence, poverty and crime of our urban setting. His wisdom helped me determine to join his efforts to bring justice to our city. His wisdom helped us all to discern what people of faith and many divergent faiths could do to work together to bring healing and hope. His leadership of the Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network (PIIN) evidenced his wisdom."
